1 cloth mask readily passes virus laden air

2 poor seal at edge of mask passes virus laden air

3 tear fluid on eyes captures virus delivering it to the sinus via tear ducts

As much as I want this to be an effective argument against the masktards and covidiots, it is not. And even though most covidiots think the mask is to protect them from INCOMING pathogens, that’s not the purpose. These assorted face diapers are not meant to be PPE – personal protective equipment, but rather “source control”. So the sith lords can easily argue that they are necessary to “help” spread droplets of mucous and assorted smut. Of course these fucking face diapers are really mind control devices after all. But the only argument that I have so far come across that works is that anyone wearing a mask must be a priori ill. And everyone that I have ever seen wearing one of these goddamned “medical devices” WAS NOT ILL. Which reminds me that is possibly another argument that works: i. e. a mask is a medical device and some snot nosed supermarket kid has no business ordering anyone to put on – PRESCRIBE – a medical device (practice medicine).

Two weeks ago, I wrote every NC state representative – 170. I sent, via email, my reasoning regarding the use of masks and the fact that I was an RN with a Master’s degree. Approximately 15 took the time to respond. Exactly 5 Republicans agreed with me. The rest of the replies referred me to the same link regarding the CDC’s position. A few included a bit of shaming as well. All of the pro-maskers ignored copious research I included and all were Democrats.
I expected more replies…..if only a form letter.
I shouldn’t have been, but I was very disappointed.
After the president’s recent response regarding mask use, a Nazi neighbor did not hesitate to attempt shaming.
My Nextdoor neighbor is an RN as well. She understands but doesn’t want to deal with negative responses……
The majority of nurses I know, sad to say, are defiantly ignorant of the research, and take the same stand as the CDC, ANA, and AMA…..
Most NP’s I know freely admit this is a hoax…..the physicians won’t even discuss it….and the residents are being successfully indoctrinated to “ follow protocol “
It’s very difficult to remain positive. Thank goodness I have a “believing” family!

As a long-time nurse, I marvel at people in the medical field who go shopping wearing masks. We know the paper surgical masks are intended to keep our breath vapor and saliva droplets out of sterile fields and open wounds. We were taught that they very soon become moist and then are ineffective for prevention of microbial transmission. I went to Barnes & Noble today to pick up an order. I walked bare-faced past a large sign outside that said masks were required. I ignored another sign posted on their door. I got in line six feet after the person in front of me to wait my turn. I got a couple of questioning looks, but no one said anything. I was ready to tell them that I had been tested for COVID a few days ago and was negative. Doing this is required in Michigan. I was thinking that it’s how the Jews who had to wear yellow stars in Germany must have felt. They were excluded from places, then not allowed to walk on sidewalks, then confined to ghettos, etc.

Have people had a chance to see a very excellent interview with two physicians from southern California before that video was removed from YouTube and Twitter? At the moment, I can’t recall their names. They talked about data they had gathered about infection and more from the chain of urgent care clinics that they own. Even more importantly, they explained in terms that lay people can understand, that people develop and strengthen their immunity by exposure to germs. They gave an illustration of the way babies crawl, putting various things into their mouths. They are developing their immune systems. This is how God made us! We are designed to thrive in this sea of microorganisms and we help ourselves more by how we stay healthy–our food choices, sleep, exercise, sunshine, etc.

Hi Everyone After reading and listening to the discussion on masks and eustachian tubes no one has pointed out that there is an ear drum between the exterior opening of the ear and the internal eustachian tube. As the diagram illustrates the two ‘free’ air flow pathways, unless you had a perforated ear drum or no ear drum,are from outside up to the drum and from inside the nasal and mouth throat passage to the rear of the ear drum. The question to be considered is whether or not the virus that will attach itself to the outer ear drum surface will transfer through the drum to the inner ear area and eustachian tube and then nasal passage and mouth area and then into the lungs. The eyes are totally exposed unless some droplet splatter is partly curtailed by a face shield. Most governments have not issued exact specifications for masks to eliminate certain particle sizes. as Betsy mentioned any material of any colour, fibre type szie or design is accepted. No rules as to disinfecting masks, maximum number of times to be worn etc.I endorse the sentiments expressed that it is more about societal control than preventing infections! The engineer’s analysis reposes upon a faulty premise.

Although ambient air, under certain circumstances, can pass through the Eustachian tubes into the body, if the eardrums are intact, it normally does not. An intact eardrum fully seals the ear. Air pressure within the Eustachian tubes, normally is regulated only through their openings into the nasal cavity.

More relevant to the argument of mask ineffectiveness are the eyballs, which most certainly do capture airborne particles, including viruses, and which drain into the nasal cavity via the nasolacrimal ducts.

Like the Eustachian tubes, the nasolacrimal ducts are not usually a conduit for ambient air to enter the body. We don’t breathe through our ears or our eyes. In contrast to the Eustachian tubes, the nasolacrimal ducts are not sealed by a membrane, and small volumes of air are sometimes expelled from the body through them into the eye sockets when we forcefully exhale.

Love you guys but Michael and this alleged engineer are wrong. Mike I respect engineers. I respect them more when they pay attention to the details. This alleged engineer studied an illustration and not the actual structures. The tympanic membrane is air tight so it can transmit sound to the middle ear. The eustachian tubes equalize the air pressure in the middle ear. That means the only way you van rake in air through the ear canal is with a ruptured ear drum.
Mike was mostly accurate on the rest if it. A mask does not really provide protection to the wearer because most people breathe by generating negative pressure in the lungs.
Engineers know a lot but maybe next time speak to to the biological engineers – aka health care professionals.
