After a week and a half pinned down to my command chair, it felt good to move around the ship.

My thoughts went through my wrist thingamajig.

It was strange to see the claustrophobic doughnut shaped interior of the ship again.

It was a perfect time to check the ship, besides, its regulations to rundown an inspection after prolonged acceleration.

I opened my eyes and found myself in Athena’s Jacuzzi on her estate overlooking Origin’s Southern Tropical Sea of Tranquillitatis.

Scalene, a barren icy pot marked rocky planet twice the mass of Origin.

It lies near the outer edge of the Goldilocks zone of the sun’s warming incandescence.

Scalene didn’t always have a ring system. 1,000 years ago, the UAF was testing low yield Planet Killer devices that had displaced an estimated 200 Terra tons of its outer crust.

I was in Heaven’s Heart, dreaming what a wonderful feeling this is for the first time in my 300 orbits of our star!

Sleep transported me into a true and ultimate heavenly paradise!

I was curled up in my empyrean cloud when I sensed Athena’s pheromones and baby smooth naked warm body lying next to me.

Athena vowed she’d trouble shoot my lower level amplitude modulated pathways of opposite sexual responses. And I think it’s working!

I can hear Athena giving one of her history lessons from base of the great Tetrahedron in front of her students…

Athena’s thoughts startled me awake.

The bedroom looked very different. I peered out her port windows!

She had a somber look, leaned against the steel wall with her arms crossed and looked right through me.

Finally most of the billions of tons of atmosphere that was blasted into space was caught up in the solar wind and slowly drifted away.

She waved her hand over a sensor and it opened a section of wall twice the volume of a door. It revealed a polished metallic tunnel, with another Air-Lock at the end to a typical hangar bay.

{Yes, all that we are experiencing, is a nested simulation of our subconsciousness.}

{Punkin lips, you mentioned a surprise?}

{Over there.} She pointed to beyond the shuttles.

We walked to the rear of the hangar past various spacecraft, some of which are cargo shuttles used for short planetary jaunts.

Gravity has that familiar tug indicating we were back on Origin. I pulled the covers away and looked out. Indeed this is her flat in Traversal.

Above Her Entertainment Module a holographic emerald glow of 03:24:17 was relentlessly ticking the time forward.

I rolled out of the bed and headed to the kitchen’s coffee maker.

I beheld the familiar congested parade of stars transitioning through the spectrum.

Stars moving by as blazing pinpoints of Light fusing their Hydrogen fuel at a fantastic pace!

I unbuckled my ‘Seat Belt’.

Athena’s beautiful face was back in the tracer display next to me. Her default factory appearance was enhanced by her mesmerizing blue eyes.

“OK” Athena acknowledged.

Through the translucent hull of the Lens was Hosanna with a ghostly whirlpool of hydrogen. At 20 light years and closing, I could barely make out the accretion disk of matter meeting up her event horizon.

“Sweetie, I’m going add a pink tracer of our trajectory.”

“Good Idea.”

Starlight that didn’t get sucked in Hosanna was warped in strange Doppler colored rings, marking her gravitational event horizon of light.

Starlight further away from her edge of no return was stretched into elongated searing blue shifted crescents, ovals and dashes.

Athena explained this phenomena.

“As you ca see the intense flow or ‘Action’ of ‘Positive’ Gravity particles falling towards Hosanna creates the ‘Reaction’ of altering or bending the trajectory of ‘Negative’ Photons of Light.”

“When Light’s ‘Negative’ charge ventures too close to Hosanna’s intense flow of ‘Positive’ Gravity particles, the Light is ‘Captured’.”

“Wow! Darling, what’s our status?”

By the time we reach perigee, we’ll peak at 881,791,926,480 miles per second.

Our Free Fall speed and relative mass will not give us the desired hyperbolic Arc back to origin.

Rather, its more like a glancing obtuse adjustment towards the far side of Hosanna’s Galactic Realm.”

I zoomed out the Cube’s display to show the flashing cross-hairs of Origin tens of thousands of light years from us.

“You’ll have this all planned out?”

Athena smiled with her eyes:

“Don’t worry your pretty little head sweetie, I have it all under control.”

It was T-minus 30 minutes to perigee and it was good a time as any to walk the ship before I had to strap in for our close encounter.

Athena’s G-Force Engines will have to make that dance with the Empress and start a long deceleration to ‘Interplanetary Speed Limits’.

“My love, Please switch off the hull translucence.”

Athena caught my eyes, winked, nodded her head in acknowledgement and just like that, our vast universe shrank down to the interior of the Lens.
